Chainsaw Safety and Maintenance

Chainsaw Safety and Maintenance
Saturday, April 22 from 10 am to 1 pm
with Carlos Mejias from Stihl
at Cherry Valley Cooperative Farm, 619 Cherry Valley Rd, Princeton

Learn proper usage, safety, and maintenance for this essential tool in land management. Carlos will review chainsaw usage techniques, safety procedures, and maintenance. If you're new to using a chainsaw or unsure of your expertise, this class will help you become more confident in safe and effective chainsaw usage. If you're a confident and experienced chainsaw user, this class will help you improve your technique and maintenance skills so that your machine will run efficiently and last for many years.

A variety of chainsaw models will be provided for teaching and demonstration. Participants are welcome to bring their own machine for specific questions on the model or its maintenance. Participants who wish to participate in woodcutting during the training are required to bring their own personal protective equipment (safety goggles, earmuffs, and chaps).

Registration is $40 for NOFA-NJ members and $50 for non-members.
